The teaching staff includes 90 Doctors of Science, Professors, 340 Candidates of Science. The tuition programmes are adapted to modern conditition, taking in to account the world experience .At the University, Continuous up-to-date European system of medical education including Pre College, Under-Graduate and Post Graduate education is carried out.

The program of training is subordinated to the main purpose: Achieving the level of progessionalism that gives the right to receive the Physician Diploma and the title of “Doctor of Medicine”. At the University 5500 students are trained. In total about 40000 doctors, including more than 6000 foreign citizens have been trained. At your disposal there are 47 the best medical establishment of Vinnytsya,Zhytomyr,Khmelnytskiy regions, well equipped educational and scientific complexes, student’s campus with comfortable hostels,canteens,health services, sports complex.At their disposal the student have sanitary sport bases on the shores of the Black Sea and the Southern Bug river.

GENERAL INFORMATION (Milestones of the Development)

1921- Pharmaceutical institute was opened
1930- Vinnitsa branch of All Ukrainian Institute of Extra mural medical education was opened
1932- Branch of All Ukrainian Institute of Extra mural medical education was reorganized into the Evening Industrial Medical Institute.
1934- Vinnitsa medical institute was founded
1960- The institute was named after N.I Pirogov
1961- Pediatric faculty was opened
1978-the institute carried out the enrolment of the foreign citizen for training at the main faculties
1979- Preparatory department for foreign citizen was opened
1984-For Success in training doctors and teaching staff, rendering assistance to practical public health service the institute was awarded by order(Badge of Honour)
1990- Scientific – research centre was organized
1991- First among higher educational establishment of Ukraine the lyceum classes was introduced
1992- Faculty of Medicine was opened, Specialization: General medicine and pediatrics
1994- The institute was accredited on IV (highest) level; the status of University was awarded (Decree off the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No 408, dated 15.06.94)
1994- Faculty of Dentistry was opened
1997, 2000- for the high rating the university was awarded with the special diploma by the independent experts of International Personal Academy.
2002- By the president of Ukraine decree of june,19 2002,No. 560/2002 our University was awarded the highest mark of distinction National status and is called Ukraine National Pirogov Memorial Medical University, Vinnitsa.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Vinnytsia is located on the banks of the Rive Pivdenny Bug, 260 kms to the south of the Capital of Ukraine Kyiv (3 Hours by train), 14 Hours by train from Moscow and 6- from Odessa and from Lviv).
The city is connected by the railway and air paths to the Western Europe and other countries. Average temperature in winter is 5-7’C below zero, Summer 20+27’C above zero

INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION
The University staff actively collaborates with 20 partner international educational and scientific programmes. National Pirogov Memorial Medical University, Vinnystya realizes technical and Scientific pedagogical international cooperation with the following institution aboard;

University (Germany),Limozh University (France),Rome University (Italy),Warsaw Medical Academy, Medical University of Lodz(Poland).

Since 2001 our University and the University of Alabama at Birmingham(USA)entered into vast collaboration in the frames of Icohrta Programme (International Clinical Operational and Health Services Research Training Award).This project facilities widening of international links not only in Scientific, educational and medical preventive sphere, but also in socio economic one.

During the last years with the purpose of Acquaintance with educational, scientific and treatment work our University was visited by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of India, Delegation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordon Dr.Laila Yaghi, Dr.Saleh Al Akili, Dr. Nayef Al Gharibe, Deputy Counselor of the Department in Ukraine of the Embassy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordon Mr.Mohammmed Al Hawamle.
