Al Farabi Kazakh National University

Al Farabi Kazakh National university, also known as KazGu or KazNU is one of the leading universities of Central Asia and is one of the largest universities of Kazakhstan.

The university is one of the oldest universities in Kazakhstan established by the decree of Kazakh regional committee (KRC) office 1934 and now belongs to the country’s historical heritage.

 With more than 20,000 students and 2500 faculty members, learning and teaching at various levels and a worldwide accreditation from various institutional organizations like Independent Agency for Accreditation and Ranking (IAAR) and the Independent Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (IQAA), the university holds itself a prestigious position amongst the Internationally recognized educational institutes.

Since the university was founded under the soviet system, it still to date is highly centralized. The university has managed to continually rank itself well amongst the higher educational institutes of Kazakhstan time and time again.

Al Farabi Kazakh National University campus is constructed on a 100-acre ground at the historical city of Almaty, Kazakhstan. It’s one of the oldest and largest cities of the country, and just like the university, the city is of historical value and heritage to the republic of Kazakhstan. 

The city’s vast population and economy have led it to be one of the biggest metropolitan cities of the republic which in turn has led the university towards a path of prosperity and rich education. 

The university is divided into 15 schools and 64 academic departments. The campus is mostly dominated by a 15 storey building which accommodates the universities’ administration department along with its various faculties.

For an Indian student to be eligible for KazNu, they must:

  • Score 50% or above at 10+2
  • Clear the competitive exams depending upon the subject they choose
  • Be between 17-25 years of age.
  • Have the same subject background at 10+2
  • Have a passport
